Shift (2005) is my senior thesis animated short film. It is structured like an experiential journey without characters. The story is told through the use of environment, atmosphere and the camera. The central theme is a different take on cycles through time. Production methods are similar to those used in 3D matte paintings and include watercolor painting, projection of 2D images onto 3D elements, and compositing effects applied in post. Shot breakdown available here. Shift screened at the 2005 Plymouth Independent Film Festival and will screen at Student Shorts 2005 in Toronto, Canada and The 2005 New Hampshire Film Expo in Portsmouth, NH. |
